As much as it pains me, it's time for me to leave the Turbo Dodge world. The Lancer Shelby has pretty much taken my will to work on these things away (see pix in my Flickr thread), and the Daytona just isn't exciting to me. So I've embarked on the process of getting a Turbo Volvo, and I found one in Memphis that looks interesting. According to the current owner, the car is fine mechanically but has some issues cosmetically and with picky little things. Those things can be fixed over time, and I can once again have a turbo brick.
I had originally planned on getting this one in Cookeville but the seller decided he didn't really want to sell it after all. Can't blame him.
Then the strangest thing happened this morning. I got an email out of nowhere inquiring about the Daytona. I then got a second email from the same person saying I may as well consider it sold and that she wanted it. He said he would come down from Michigan to pick it up, and to prove she was serious, she was going to send me a down payment. Wow!
So, it would appear I will be Turbo Dodge-less soon. Yay, I think. I know that down the road, I'll have a different, nicer Turbo Dodge and I'll be happy with it again. I miss my CSX everyday, but the funny thing is, I don't miss any car I've ever owned more than that Volvo 745ti that I used to own. Zoni loved that car too. She wants me to get this car as well, because she wants to drive it occasionally. That's pretty darn cool.
So, turbo brick world, I now return!
I was sitting at my house, strangely working on an ASP.NET project for work yesterday, when it occurred to me that I have really gotten too far away from coding. It's like I have gotten so used to being able to use visual tools (i.e. Dreamweaver, VS2005, PHPEdit, etc.) that when it comes to just writing some good old code, I skip it. Bad thing. So, back into the code I dive. Hopefully my new found love of Ruby on Rails will help in that area, and I can begin to actually start writing more CODE now, and less fluff. We'll see.
